Hong Kong Flower Show 2026: 10 Days of Blooms at Victoria Park
Every March, Victoria Park in Causeway Bay transforms from a busy urban park into one of the most colourful public spaces in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Flower Show returns for 2026 from March 20 to 29, and this year the star of the show is the stock flower (genus Matthiola), a fragrant bloom known for its tall spikes of purple, pink, and white petals. The theme, “A Fragrant Journey through Hong Kong,” promises 10 days of landscaped gardens, floral competitions, and cultural performances across the park.
The event is one of the largest annual outdoor gatherings in the city, regularly drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors. Over 200 exhibitors from Hong Kong and around the world will display landscaped garden plots, potted arrangements, and themed floral installations. If you have never been, it is part garden tour, part outdoor festival, and one of the few events where both serious horticulture enthusiasts and casual weekend visitors will find something to enjoy.
What to Expect This Year
The centrepiece is the themed garden section, where exhibitors compete to create the most impressive landscaped plots using the stock flower and complementary plantings. Past years have seen everything from Japanese zen gardens to tropical jungle installations. Around the main displays, you will find over 50 stalls selling food, drinks, handicrafts, and plants to take home.
The plant exhibit competition spans 13 categories, including orchids, Chinese orchids (lan hui), bonsai, and potted flowers. For photographers, a dedicated competition runs in three categories, with portrait sessions alongside TVB artistes scheduled for March 19.

Family Activities and Workshops
The show is a strong option for families. Floral art demonstrations run throughout the 10 days, along with greening workshops where children can learn about planting and sustainability. The Jockey Club Student Drawing Competition gives younger visitors a structured activity, while the open lawns and garden paths provide plenty of space to explore.
If you are looking for more family-friendly activities in Hong Kong, the Flower Show is particularly well-suited for younger children who can wander freely between the garden displays.
Practical Tips for Visiting
The show gets crowded on weekends, especially in the afternoons. Weekday mornings offer the most comfortable viewing, with shorter queues at the food stalls and more space around the garden plots. Seniors aged 60 and over, persons with disabilities, and their carers receive free admission on weekdays.
Bring sunscreen and water. March in Hong Kong can be warm and humid, and there is limited shade across much of the showground. Comfortable shoes are essential as you will be walking on grass and gravel paths for most of the visit.
The closest MTR station is Tin Hau (Exit A2), which puts you right at the park entrance in under two minutes. Causeway Bay and Fortress Hill stations are also within walking distance.
