A five-day burger festival with more than 70 food stalls just kicked off in Shenzhen’s Futian district, and it is one of the easiest cross-border food trips you can make from Hong Kong this weekend.
The Bay Area Super Burger Festival (湾区引力超级汉堡节) is running from March 27 to 31 at WORLD COCO Park, the outdoor plaza beneath the Gemdale Twin Towers in the Futian CBD. Entry is free. You pay per item, and most burgers cost between 39 and 68 yuan, roughly HK$40 to HK$75 each.
What to Expect

The festival brings together 35 or more craft burger brands from cities across China, alongside additional stalls serving tacos, skewers, cocktails, and other street food. The total count exceeds 70 vendors. Many of the burger makers are independent operations that have built followings on social media but have no permanent presence in Shenzhen, so this is a rare chance to try them without travelling to their home cities.
The atmosphere is open-air market meets food carnival. Stalls are arranged along the plaza beneath the towers, with seating areas scattered between them. Live music reportedly runs during evening hours. Several vendors are running on-the-spot raffles and giveaways, and a few have been spotted offering free burgers to lucky winners.
Burgers Worth Queuing For

With dozens of options, deciding where to start can be overwhelming. Based on early visitor reviews, a few stalls are already generating buzz.
Liang Songhe’s Burger (梁松鹤的汉堡) is drawing long lines for its pineapple red wine caramelised onion cheese burger at 59 yuan. We recommend going early in the day to skip the queue. Baiwan Burger (百万汉堡) offers a Thai-inspired mango beef burger for 46 yuan that balances spicy and tangy flavours. For something more indulgent, Zhao Cai Jin Bao (招财进堡) serves a seared foie gras and thick-cut beef burger at 68 yuan, and they run a lucky draw where every customer wins some discount.
If you prefer something lighter, the eel taco from Haitai Taco (海苔塔可) at 45 yuan features an entire grilled eel on a crispy seaweed shell, and the Cantonese-style grilled chicken skewers from Yue Shi Kao Chuan (粤式烤串) go for 28 yuan. Cocktail stalls sell machine-mixed drinks starting at 35 yuan per cup.
One practical tip: weekday daytime visits have shorter queues. Friday and Saturday evenings draw the biggest crowds, and some vendors can take up to an hour during peak times.
How to Get There from Hong Kong

The festival is at WORLD COCO Park, directly below the Gemdale Twin Towers in the Futian CBD. The nearest metro station is Shopping Park (购物公园站) on Lines 1 and 3.
The fastest route from Hong Kong is the high-speed rail from West Kowloon to Futian Station. The ride takes about 14 minutes. From Futian Station, transfer to Metro Line 3 (Longgang Line) and ride two stops to Shopping Park Station. Exit B or D puts you right at COCO Park. Door to door, you can be at the festival within 40 minutes of leaving West Kowloon.
Alternatively, cross at Futian Port (福田口岸) and take Metro Line 4 one stop to Convention and Exhibition Centre, then transfer to Line 1 or 3 to Shopping Park. This route takes slightly longer but works if you prefer the land border.
