Xihe Exquisite Beijing Cuisine (羲和京致·北京烤鸭) is one of the most popular Peking duck restaurants in Shenzhen, sitting on the sixth floor of MixC World (万象天地) in Nanshan. The restaurant has earned a 4.8 out of 5 rating on Dianping with over 6,600 reviews, making it one of the highest-rated duck specialists in the city. Originally operating under the name 羲和雅苑 (Xihe Yayuan), the brand rebranded to its current name but kept the same kitchen team and recipes that built its reputation. The restaurant specialises in northern Chinese cuisine with Peking duck as the centrepiece, and the kitchen takes a more refined, presentation-focused approach than the average roast duck spot.

What sets Xihe apart from most Peking duck restaurants in Shenzhen is the tableside carving service and a creative three-way tasting approach that goes beyond the traditional pancake wrap. The average spend is around ¥108 per person, which is reasonable for the quality and presentation. With four branches across Shenzhen (MixC World, Dayun, MixC Luohu, and Jinguanghua), the MixC World location remains the flagship and the one we recommend visiting first.
The Duck, Three Ways

The star of the menu is the 羲和经典烤鸭 (Xihe Classic Roast Duck), priced at ¥298 for a full set or ¥188 for a half set. The duck is roasted in a traditional hung oven and carved tableside by a chef who separates the bird into three distinct servings, each designed to highlight a different texture and flavour.
The first serving is the crispy breast skin, which arrives on a small plate with blueberry sauce and popping candy on the side. You dip the lacquered skin into the sauce and top it with a few crystals of popping candy. The combination sounds unusual, but the sweet-tart blueberry and the fizzing candy play off the rich, smoky fat in a way that works surprisingly well. This is the serving that most first-time visitors remember, and the one that tends to show up most often on social media posts about the restaurant.

The second serving is sliced breast meat paired with wasabi. The lean meat is tender with a clean roasted flavour, and the wasabi adds a sharp kick that cuts through the richness. It is a simple combination that lets you appreciate the quality of the duck itself without any distractions.
The third serving is the traditional pancake wrap. Thin wheat pancakes are filled with leg meat, cucumber, spring onion, and sweet bean sauce (甜面酱). This is the classic Peking duck experience that most people are familiar with, and Xihe does it well. The pancakes are soft and pliable, and the duck meat is juicy with just enough fat to keep things interesting without being greasy. An 八宝盒 (eight-treasure condiment box) comes alongside with cucumber, spring onion, sweet bean sauce, sliced onion, hawthorn strips, blueberry sauce, popping candy, and wasabi, giving you plenty of options to mix and match across all three servings.
What Else to Order

Beyond the duck, Xihe has a full menu of northern Chinese dishes that hold up well on their own. The 海胆豆腐 (sea urchin tofu) is one of the most recommended sides, with 64 mentions on Dianping. It is a silky steamed tofu topped with a generous portion of sea urchin, rich and briny. The 张氏狮子头 (Zhang-style lion’s head meatball) is another popular choice: a large, tender pork meatball braised in a light broth that is comfort food at its best.
The 乾隆白菜 (Emperor’s cabbage) is a cold appetiser of shredded napa cabbage dressed in a tangy sesame sauce. It is light, refreshing, and a good counterpoint to the heavier duck and meat dishes. For something sweet, the 羲和小酸奶 (Xihe yoghurt) is a house-made Beijing-style yoghurt that regulars swear by, thick and mildly sour with a clean finish.
If you are ordering for a group, the 手撕糖油饼 (hand-torn sugar pancake) is worth adding. It is a flaky, golden-fried pastry with a light sugar glaze that works as both a side and a dessert. Other reliable options include the 京派椒麻鸡 (Sichuan pepper chicken), the 老北京炒合菜 (stir-fried mixed vegetables), and the 老北京炒酱面 (Beijing fried sauce noodles) for a filling finish to the meal.
The Space

The MixC World branch occupies a large corner unit on the sixth floor with a design that leans into traditional Beijing aesthetics: golden accents, dark wood, and warm lighting throughout. It is a noticeably more upscale setting than the average Shenzhen mall restaurant, which fits the occasion-dining nature of Peking duck. Private rooms (包厢) are available for larger groups, and the restaurant also has large tables suitable for family gatherings. High chairs are available for young children. The overall atmosphere is polished but not stuffy, which makes it suitable for everything from a date night to a family celebration or a business dinner.
The restaurant gets busy during weekend lunch and dinner, especially Saturday evenings. If you are visiting on a weekend, we recommend making a reservation through Dianping or calling ahead. Weekday lunches tend to be quieter and are a good time to visit if you want a more relaxed experience. There is paid parking available in the MixC World basement.

From Shenzhen Bay, it is about a 15-minute taxi ride or a short metro connection. The area around MixC World has plenty to explore before or after your meal, including the adjacent Shenzhen tech district and Shenzhen Bay Park, which is worth a walk along the waterfront if the weather is good. The mall itself has a good selection of shops and cafes if you want to spend the afternoon browsing before or after your meal.
Xihe also offers a couple deal on Dianping: a ¥268 set meal for two (valued at ¥439) that includes a half duck and several side dishes. It is solid value if you are visiting as a pair and want to try the duck without over-ordering. Check the current Dianping listing for the latest deal availability, as these promotions change periodically.
